Reconstitution and storage in the lab
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides are shipped as a dry powder because it is far more stable than a solution.
Before opening
Keep sealed vials cold, dry and away from light. Many laboratories store them at −20 °C for the long term and at 2–8 °C for short periods. Let a vial reach room temperature before opening it, so moisture doesn't condense on the powder.
After reconstitution
Choose a solvent suited to the sequence and your protocol, work aseptically, and record the concentration. Divide solutions into aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Follow your institution's procedures for labelling and storage.
